Since the time I was 4 and learned to read, I have also loved to write. When I was too young to write legibly my mother would document my daily journal entries for me every night before bed.
Once I could handle it on my own – questionable spelling be damned – I took to keeping my own diary for years. As I got older and became distracted with other interests and obligations, i.e. sports, school, socializing; my journal entries became less regular but I never lost my passion for literature.
After high school, where I excelled at things like basketball, being awesome and never going to my appropriate classes, I went to my dream school, the University of Michigan – GO BLUE! – where I majored in English with a focus in Sports Journalism. I gained invaluable experience interacting with athletes for interviews and papers there, and developed an unhealthy obsession with all things blue and gold.
After college, I made my way out west, settling down in Santa Monica and working in various aspects of the real estate biz in addition to maintaining an online sports and real estate blog and an enviable social life. As you can see, writing and being awesome are a common theme in my life. After five years of beach living, I packed up and made the move to the Big Apple.
Now that I’m settled in with my real estate career and a long list of New York pastimes (eating, drinking, working, exercising, in that order), I am back to my writing roots with this blog. I hope to share my experiences, both personal and professional, gain some feedback on my writing and my opinions, and further perfect my craft.
Thanks for reading!! Your feedback is appreciated.
